Our vacation rentals are located in or close to, several small medieval towns in an area called the “Compitese”, outside of Lucca. Most are within a 20 minute drive of the city. They often have spectacular views of the Pisano mountains or the sunny grapevine and olive filled valleys. Small towns like these enjoy stunning sunrises and sunsets, the hours marked by ringing church bells. One can walk to the town center or “piazza” for espresso or glass of wine, a stop at the local bakery for Tuscan torte or some bread, or just to enjoy the ambiance. The villagers are friendly and will welcome your attempts with the language.
